Italy marks Giornate Europee del Patrimonio.

Italy hosts a nationwide programme of cultural occasions to mark the 2023 version of European Heritage Days on the weekend of 23-24 September.

Underneath the theme Patrimonio InVita, the two-day occasion contains particular initiatives at state-run museums, galleries, libraries and archaeological websites, a few of that are often tough to go to.

Most of the websites may also keep open late on 23 September with a symbolic entry price of €1 which can go in direction of the restoration of flood-damaged heritage websites in Italy’s northern Emilia-Romagna area.

In Rome the programme of visits and guided excursions contains the Casina delle Civette, Villa di Massenzio, Teatro di Marcello and the newly-opened archeological space at Largo di Torre Argentina.

Held yearly throughout Europe since 1991, the European Heritage Days initiative is designed to emphasize the widespread cultural heritage shared between Europeans.
